In 1932 Armstrong Whitworth built a diminutive 15-ton shunter with the works number D10. Intended as a demonstrator, it could be driven either from the cab or by a man standing on the running board.

It ran trials at various industrial sites and worked passenger and goods trains on the 4½-mile North Sunderland Railway after which it spent the rest of its career as the resident shunter at Armstrong Whitworth's Scotswood Works before being scrapped in 1953.

Our kit can be modelled either with its roomy ‘passenger’ cab or with the later cut-down arrangement and includes a custom 120:1 'IllusoDrive' mechanism and full lost wax castings.
