This chassis, buildable in EM and P4 gauges, is designed for the large 7ft + 7ft British Railways tenders fitted to Brits, 9Fs, Clans, Class 5 4-6-0s and other Standard designs, notably many (but not all) class 4 2-6-0s and 4-6-0s. They were classified as the BR1 type and had many derivatives (BR1B, BR1C, BR1D, BR1E, BR1F). 
 
As with all our tender kits, the unit rides on the ‘CSB springy beam’ system, which is both easy to install and effective at ironing out the bumps in the track. All visible underside details can be modelled, with some castings included, along with separate guard irons to enhance Bachmann models.
 
Our kit assumes the bodyshell you’re using has, or can be built, with a flat underside that’s flush with the footplate edge. This includes the DJH kit  - modifications to fit this type which are detailed in the instructions - and with some additional work, the Hornby tender can be used.
