This kit allows EM and P4 modellers to upgrade the appearance and performance of Bachmann 4000 Gallon Stanier tenders. With minimal extra work, it can also be used with kit-built models, like DJH version, where the underside of the tank is flush with the footplate edge. Upgrading Hornby’s Stanier tender is certainly possible, but needs more work.
 
The tender rides on continuos springy beam system using the High Level ‘MiniBlox and ‘CSB tags’ which are included in the kit. The suspension is completely hidden when the chassis is in-situ, so the view through the frame cutaways is totally unobscured. 
 
Pretty much everything visible under the prototype is there - water pick-up gear with linkage, brake cross-shaft, pull rods and levers – and the detailed frame stretchers, which are particularly noticeable through frame cut-outs, are attached to the chassis for ease of assembly.
